PESHAWAR: PTI leader Gil Badshah among 21 accused arrested for involvement in fake identity cards scam in Peshawar
Gul Badshah, a local leader of provincial ruling party Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), was arrested with 20 other accused after their pleas for bail before arrest were rejected by a local court.
The complaint against Gul Badshah was registered by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The accused have been allegedly involved in providing fake national identity cards to Afghan refugees.
Gul Badshah has been a former nazim and a district level leader of ruling PTI. Police has arrested Gul Badshah and other accused and sent them to jail. According to sources,
Gul Badshah deemed a close aide of provincial Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak. The accused is close aide of former provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai and other ministers in the party.
He had contested by-election on PTI’s ticket against ANP leader Ghulam Bilour in NA-1 constituency of Peshawar.
